The ninth season of the Vivo Indian Premiere League (IPL) will kick start on a glamorous note with Bollywood and international celebrities performing at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony of the IPL 2016 will be held at the Dome @ NSCI-SVP Stadium in Mumbai, April 8 and fans can watch performances by Bollywood and international celebrities as the tickets have gone live online. The opening ceremony will start at 7.30 p.m. IST (3 p.m. BST).

The ticket price for the opening ceremony starts from Rs. 10,000 for Black Silver seats and Rs. 15,000 for Black Gold seats. Credit Card EMI options are also available. Also, Internet handling charges per ticket will be levied.

Performances

The opening ceremony will see performances of all-girl English band TBC and Bollywood celebrities, including Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yo Yo Honey Singh. Also, more than 200 dancers, artists, and percussionists are expected to perform at the event.

American rapper Chris Brown along with American dancehall reggae trio Major Lazer, English rapper Fuse ODG and Jamaican-American recording artist Nailah Thorbourne will perform at the event, which will be held Friday night.

"At IPL we treat the whole city like one scene and we bring everyone out for music, food, and just good energy all around. All of us in Major Lazer are excited to be back in India bringing the carnival to the fans," music group Major Lazer said in a statement, according to Press Trust of India.
