Looks like recall woes will continue to haunt the Indian automobile industry as iconic American bike maker Indian Motorcycle is now set to join the list. It has globally recalled 23,766 bikes over faulty fuel rail system, which could lead to fuel leak.
The recall includes models like Chief Classic, Chief Dark Horse, Vintage, Chieftan, Chieftan Dark Horse, Springfield and Roadmaster motorcycles, which were manufactured between April 15, 2013 and July 15, 2016.
According to ZigWheels, the service staff in India would be trained before the company issues a recall in the country. Indian Motorcycle has dealerships in Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh and sells Scout Sixty, Scout, Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, Chieftain, Chief Dark Horse, Springfield and Roadmaster.
The American motorcycle manufacturer had recently launched Chieftain Dark Horse, the black version of Indian Chieftain, at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In November, the company had also added new Springfield cruiser to its India portfolio.
The new Springfield cruiser has been priced at Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram). The Springfield, which got its name from the birthplace of Indian Motorcycle, comes powered by a Thunder Stroke 1,811cc V-twin engine that can churn out 139Nm of peak torque at 2,600rpm.
