The Day 4 of the third and final Test match between India and Sri Lanka was an eventful one. At the end of the day's play on Monday, India are well in control of the Test match and Virat Kohli & Co. are anticipating a historical Test series victory after 22 years in the Lankan soil.

Amidst all these, Ishant Sharma attracted a lot of eyeballs as he got involved in an ugly spat with Sri Lankan players. He came out to bat at no.11 for India alongside Ravichandran Ashwin who was batting on 57 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.

Dhammika Prasad continuously bowled three bouncers to Ishant but could not get him out. The umpires had warned Prasad after the second bouncer. In spite of that warning, Prasad bowled yet another bouncer, which was eventually called a no-ball by the on-field umpire Nigle Long.

Ishant nudged the fourth ball towards the fine leg area and while taking a single, he pointed towards his helmet and asked Prasad to bowl another one to get him. It was then that things got uglier and the on-field umpires had to intervene to stop the banter.

This did not stop the altercations. After India were bowled out, Ishant was running back to the pavilion to get ready for the rest of the day. But Prasad followed the lanky Indian pacer and exchanged a few heated words there as well.

The aggression shown by Ishant Sharma on Day 4 was well backed by his spell when Sri Lanka came out to chase down a target of 386 runs. He dismissed Upul Tharanga early with a peach of a delivery just in that corridor of uncertainty. Sri Lanka were reeling at two for two and Dinesh Chandimal who was also involved in that banter, came out to bat at no.4 for Sri Lanka.

Chandimal yet again started to play attacking shots but he was not looking comfortable at the crease. Ishant got the better off him soon and he celebrated the wicket of Chandimal in an ecstatic fashion.
