The two nations are set to face off against each other on Sunday in their opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. With both sides wanting to prove a point or two, the fans are in for an emotionally-charged contest.

Here is a look at some of the biggest fights between India and Pakistan over the years.

1. Ishant Sharma and Kamran Akmal

The incident between Ishant Sharma and Kamran Akmal took place during a T20 match back in 2012. After getting out on a no-ball, Sharma almost got Akmal out the very next delivery and the two got into a war of words after that. The two players started yelling at each other and the umpires and the players had to step in and separate them.

2. Kiran More and Javed Miandad

This incident took place back in 1992 and not a lot of fans would remember this. In was during the world cup back then and Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More kept pestering Javed Miandad from behind the wicket. The Pakistani got so irritated that he stopped the bowler, turned to face the keeper and had a word with More. And after facing the next delivery, Miandad did three jumps in the air holding his bat in both hands to imitate More's appealing.

3.  Harbhajan Singh and Shoaib Akhtar

This incident is also not easy to forget if you are an Indian fan. India needed seven runs from seven balls and after finishing his over with a dot ball Akhtar went to tease Harbhajan as he completely missed the ball. In the next over Harbhajan slammed Mohammad Aamir for a six in the last over to lead India to victory.

4. Gautam Gambhir and Kamran Akmal

Gautam Gambhir is not one to hold back his emotions and during India's 2010 Asia Cup match against Pakistan, he certainly didn't do so. Pakistan keeper Kamran Akmal kept on making unsuccessful appeals so Gambhir decided to confront him during the drinks break. Gambhir charged towards Akmal and if it was not for MS Dhoni, who separated them, things could have gotten physical.

5. Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi

Gambhir makes the list against this time for an altercation with Shahid Afridi in what was one of the biggest cricket fights during an India-Pakistan match. After Gambhir played the ball down the ground, he went to take a single and ran into Afridi. That collision led to a heated argument between the two and a lot of insults were exchanged too. Both the players were fined by the match referee after the incident.
