Dramatic footage has been published of a temple fire in India which left at least 100 people dead. One building collapsed, and another was seriously damaged at the Puttingal Devi temple in Kerala on 10 April after the incident.

A firework used in a display marking the start of the Hindu New Year landed on top of a shed where other fireworks were being stored, causing a huge explosion at the temple in the southern state.

The shocking footage of the explosions was captured by Renjith Easwar, who was at the display. At least 380 people were also injured in the blasts.

Local authorities said that a case for illegal possession of explosives had been registered against the temple.

The temple trust was not available for comment.
