Discount offers from domestic airlines continued to pour in on the eve of India's 69th Independence Day and the latest one to be rolled out was from GoAir.

Under its "Freedom Offer", budget airline GoAir is offering a discount of 19.47% on its tickets. The booking period for the offer runs till 18 August and the travel period allowed under the offer is between 15 August and 12 October, 2015.

On the other hand, Jet Airways has extended the booking period for its "Freedom Sale" offer, which was announced earlier this week. Passengers can now avail the Jet Airways offer till 17 August, NDTV Profit reported.

On Monday, Jet Airways had announced a reduction of 30% in fares for both international and domestic travel and the booking period was open till 14 August, 2015. The travel period under the offer is from 10 September, 2015, to 14 April, 2016.

The Naresh Goyal-promoted airline is also giving "additional Rs 250 discount on one-way flights and Rs 500 on return flights" for tickets booked through its app and mobile site.

Jet Airways saw 6,350,401 international passengers travelling on its flights during the 2014-15 financial year, becoming the largest carrier in terms of international traffic from India, according to aviation consulting firm Capa India.

Cheaper crude oil prices have enabled the domestic airlines to roll out aggressive discounts for the passengers.

Overall, there has been a nearly 40% drop in jet fuel prices from a high of about Rs. 80,000 last year. In the latest cut, the aviation turbine fuel price (ATF) has been reduced by a whopping 9.5% or Rs. 4,860 to Rs. 46,407/kl.

Joining the discount offer bandwagon, Tata's full-service airline Vistara on Wednesday announced to offer a free ticket on purchase of every business class ticket.

Earlier this week, Vijayawada-based airline Air Costa rolled out a discount of Rs. 609 per ticket for travel between 20 August to 30 September, 2015.
