‘Happy New Year’ 4th Weekend Collection at Overseas Box Office: ‘Kill Dil’ Affects ‘HNY’ BusinessIB Times India

Farah Khan's "Happy New Year" (HNY) has shown huge drop in its collection at the overseas box office in the fourth weekend and its business was affected by new release "Kill Dil" in the key international markets.

"Happy New Year" has collected $42,314 from 33 screens at the USA box office in the fourth weekend. Its 24-day total stands at $2,922,875 (₹18.05 crore). It has landed in the third place in the USA business chart, while "Kill Dil" and Telugu film "Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham" graced first and second spots respectively.

In its fourth weekend, "Happy New Year" has raked in US$22,478 from 12 screens at the Canada box office, taking its 24-day total to US$779,655 (₹4.81 crore). While "Kill Dil" topped the business chart with its opening weekend collection US$38,809 (₹23.97 lakhs) from 12 screens, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has graced the second place.

"Happy New Year" has grossed £29,378 from 23 screens at the UK box office in the fourth weekend and its 24-day collection stands at £1,309,501 (₹12.70 crore). The movie has landed in the third place, while Punjabi film "Chaar Sahibzaade" (£322,429) and "Kill Dil" (£98,074) graced first and second spots in the business chart in the country.

Punjabi movies "Chaar Sahibzaade" (A$486,556) and "Baaz" (A$42,507) and "Kill Dil" have pushed down "Happy New Year" to fourth spot in Australian business chart. The heist drama has A$6,996 from 8 screens at the Australia box office in the fourth weekend. Its 24-day collection has reached A$735,757 (₹3.98 crore) in the country.

"Happy New Year" has been pushed down to third place by "Chaar Sahibzaade" (NZ$41,920) and "Kill Dil" (NZ$16,406) at the business chart in the New Zealand in its fourth weekend. The multi-starrer movie has raked in NZ$4,731 from 4 screens at the box office, taking its 24-day total to NZ$293,522 (₹1.44 crore).

However, "Happy New Year" has topped the business chart in Malaysia, but its per-screen average is much lower than that of "Kill Dil". In its fourth weekend, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has collected MYR11,298 from 5 screens, taking its total to MYR393,232 (₹72.51 lakh), while "Kill Dil" raked in MYR10,691 (₹1.97 lakh) from 2 screens in its opening weekend.
