In the trailer, we see Naomi Watts' Jean Halloway, who plays the character of a sophisticated Manhattan therapist, cannot seem to control her sexual desire as she starts manipulating her clients emotionally. As she is married with children, one of her colleagues warns her, "You've blurred so many boundaries," and she admittedly saying, "I feel like I've been living my life as two people... I don't know who's in control anymore."

The Gypsy trailer depicts her lusty side as it shows Watts' character getting intimate with one of her male and female patient as well. "There's one force more powerful than free will: our desires," Watts' Jean is seen murmuring in the one minute and 54 seconds long trailer.
