Tom Hardy's new Venom trailer was recently uploaded by Sony Pictures. From the looks of the trailer, it looks like the film promises to deliver the anti-hero and a detailed story arc on the alien symbiote focusing mainly on Riot.

The supposed Spider-Man spin-off centres the life of a journalist, Eddie Brock who investigate Life Foundation. Venom will feature Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom, Riz Ahmed as Dr. Carlton Drake, a mad-scientist who cheat every law of nature and upgrades the biological aspects of humans. Eddie's life will change upside down when he accidentally comes into the contact with the alien symbiote. The symbiote bonds with him, providing him with some supernatural powers.

During the San Diego Comic Con 2018, the makers of Venom released the trailer of Venom, but the recent trailer showed more of the symbiote and entertained the viewers to a rollercoaster ride filled with high octane action sequences and the fierce smokey voice of symbiote.

The new Venom 2018 trailer is packed with the bizarre relationship between Eddie and his new symbiote. While in the beginning, it is shown that Eddie seems a little reluctant of the bloodthirsty symbiote, things between the two tones down a little after they strike a relationship. In addition to this, the trailer offered us the glimpse of the Dr. Carlton Drake's Life Foundation and his own symbiote, Riot.

It was earlier mentioned during the Comic-Con that Riot that will have a bigger part in the upcoming movie. The Riot symbiote made his first appearance in Venom: Lethal Protector #4 back in 1993. According to Gamespot, Dr. Carlton created five symbiotes, one of which was Riot. While the released trailer does not provide much of Riot but it was earlier revealed that Dr. Carlton Drake is the person inside the Riot symbiote.

In the Marvel Comics, Venom is associated with Spider-Man. The Symbiote was initially introduced as an amorphous, liquid-life form, who after bonding with a human host bestows the enhanced powers. The Venom symbiote's first known host was Spider-Man — as shown in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 3.

The production of Hardy's Venom started in June 2017 it was confirmed that Sony intended to have their Marvel Universe films take place in the "same world" as the new Marvel Cinematic Universe films starting with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Tom Hardy's Venom is intended to be the first film in the Sony's Marvel Universe or SMU. Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer. In one of his earlier interviews, Fleischer talked about the struggle Eddie Brock and Symbiote will have in the upcoming film.

"They become almost a third being, which is what Venom is. There's a famous quote: 'You're Eddie Brock. I'm the Symbiote. Together we are Venom,'" he added.

The upcoming anti-hero film is set to release on October 5.
