Italian auto maker Fiat will pull the wraps off its new Punto facelift christened Punto Evo in India on 5 August.
Punto Evo, a car which has been doing the rounds on the internet for the past couple of months, is finally ready to go official in India in the first week of August. Auto enthusiasts in the country have a fairly good idea about the upcoming Punto Evo as the car has already been seen through spy shots and leaked reports.
Fiat's new Punto will have four trims to offer, namely Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport and the car will come in seven body paints-Glitterati Gold, Magnesio Grey (the one in the top image), Exotica Red, Minimal Grey, Hip Hop Black, Vocal White, and Tuscan White.
Talking of the engine specifications, Punto Evo will run on the same engine as its predecessor. The diesel model of the car will pack the 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75 bhp and a torque of 197 Nm and the petrol model of the facelift will get power from 1.2 and 1.4 litre engine, which can generate a power of 68 bhp-96 Nm and 90 bhp-115 Nm respectively. All the engines will come coupled to 5-speed manual transmission.
As far as the mileage of the new Punto Evo concerned, the diesel engine powered Punto Evo is likely to clock 21.2 kmpl, whereas the petrol engines 1.2l and 1.4l is expected to get a mileage of 15.8 kmpl and 14.4 kmpl respectively, reported Rushlane.
Coming to the features expected for the new Punto Facelift, the car is likely to flaunt black interior with centre console, air-con vents and dashboard lifted from the 2014 Linea and is likely to get rear air-con vent, which will be the first in this segment.
On the exterior revealed by the spy shots, the car is likely to feature a new front fascia with honeycomb grille, which is similar to the one seen in the Avventura. Previous reports have indicated that the dealers have also commenced the bookings for Punto Facelift with a token amount of ₹25,000.
When launched, the car will be pinned to rival Volkswagen Polo facelift, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt in India. Although the company is yet to reveal the price of the new Punto Evo, it is expected to fall in the price brackets of ₹5 lakh to 7 lakh.
