It looks like Fiat is all set to introduce its new Punto in the country as the emerging reports suggest that the dealerships of the company have started receiving the vehicle.

Fiat Punto facelift aka Punto EVO has been making headlines in India for quite a while now. Although the company is yet to make any announcement regarding the launch date of the Punto EVO, the repeated sightings of the car in the country give us the confidence that the launch is not far. Now to tickle auto lovers' fancy further, the folks at TeamBHP have posted a picture of the vehicle, which was snapped at a dealership in the country.

Expected to reach the retail market by the end of this month, Punto facelift, which has made numerous appearances on the web is likely to retain the same engine of its current model. While the diesel version of the new Punto facelift is expected to pack the same 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75 bhp and a torque of 197 Nm, the petrol model of the facelift is likely to draw its power from 1.2 and 1.4 litre engine, which can generate a power of 68 bhp-96 Nm and 90 bhp-115 Nm respectively.

In terms of styling and design, 2014 Fiat Punto facelift is likely to get a reworked front fascia with a honeycomb grille, which is similar to the one seen in the Avventura. Inside the cabin, the car is expected to host black interior with centre console, air-con vents and dashboard lifted from the 2014 Linea and is expected to get rear air-con vent, which is first in this segment. The rear end of the car also accommodates changes with rear fog lamps.

The rumours suggest that the dealers of the company have commenced the bookings for Punto Facelift with a token amount of ₹25,000, indicating that the launch of the car is imminent. In India, the car will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt and is likely to come with a price tag starting in the range of ₹5 lakh.
