Fiat's Punto Evo has been caught on camera in India again as the car is inching closer to its launch in the domestic market.

The latest spy images were snapped in Drass, Kargil by the folks at Autoz.in. In the images, the test mule of Fiat Punto Evo aka Punto facelift has shed its camouflage, revealing the new stylish design factors of the car. The images show a new trendy front fascia of the car along with its alloy wheels and new bumper. 2014 Fiat Punto facelift is expected to get a honeycomb grille, which is similar to the one seen in the Avventura.

Punto is expected to get a black interior with centre console, air-con vents and dashboard lifted from the 2014 Linea and is likely to get rear air-con vent, which will be the first in this segment. The rear end of the car also accommodates changes with rear fog lamps.

Coming to the engine specifications of the Punto Evo, the car is likely to retain the same engine of its current model. Under the hood, the diesel model of the car will pack the same 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75 bhp and a torque of 197 Nm, while the petrol model of the facelift is likely to get power from 1.2 and 1.4 litre engine, which can generate a power of 68 bhp-96 Nm and 90 bhp-115 Nm respectively.

Previous reports have indicated that the company has started dispatching the new Punto facelift to the dealerships across the country and the dealers have also commenced the bookings for Punto Facelift with a token amount of ₹25,000. If reports are to be believed, the new offering of Fiat will hit the market in August. However, the company has chosen to maintain silence regarding the matter.

The Punto Evo, a strong rival of the just-launched Volkswagen Polo facelift, is likely to be priced at ₹5 lakh. The vehicle will also be facing stiff competition from Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt in India.
