The discussions and drama around Don 3, produced by Farhan Akhtar has been going on for a while now. First, the actresses who were being considered for the lead left the project, then came the biggest blow with Ranveer Singh quitting the film. While the makers have not publicly said anything, there has been a lot of speculation as to what Excel Entertainment, headed by Farhan's next step be. Amidst all of the rumours, if a particular report could be trusted, then Akhtar would be focusing on the multi-starrer Jee Le Zaraa next, a film which was announced long back.
As per a new report published by Pinkvilla, Farhan does not want to decide the casting for Don 3 in haste and wants to take time. It is because of this that he apparently now wishes to put all his focus on Jee Le Zaraa, a film that was earlier officially going to cast Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. However, there is no report on whether or not the casting for the film will remain the same or change because of the amount of time the project has taken to reach its fruition.
Pinkvilla cited a source claiming, "Farhan feels the casting of Don is crucial. He wants to be absolutely sure about who steps into the role, and it is a longer process." The source further went on to add, "Jee Le Zaraa has always been special for Farhan. With Don 3 taking time at the casting stage, he felt this was the right moment to revive discussions with the original team and push the film forward."
As per insider news, the script for Jee Le Zaraa has been locked for a while now, but the only problem is with scheduling conflicts among the three leading ladies, being the primary reason behind the prolonged delay. That said, if timelines finally fall into place, the film is expected to begin shooting sometime later this year.
The source said, "If the dates align, the film could finally go on floors in the second half of 2026. Creatively, everything is in place, and it's now about managing schedules. Farhan has started discussions with all three actresses and is hopeful their timelines can align. Everyone is keen, it's just about finding that common window."
For those unversed, Jee Le Zaraa was announced back in 2021. After which there have been no updates about the film up until now.
On the other hand, there has been a lot of speculation around Ranveer's exit from Don 3. There have been reports which have stated that his priorities shifted after the resounding success of Dhurandhar. The actor has still not publicly acknowledged any of the rumours.
