Three Bollywood movies -- Fanney Khan, Mulk and Karwaan -- are set for release this Friday, August 3. All the three movies are likely to give a tough competition to each other as far as box office collection is concerned.

Although the three movies are based on completely different genres, they have an excellent star cast and are content-driven. Fanney Khan features Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Pihu Sand and Divya Dutta. It is a musical comedy with a good dose of emotion.

Mulk is a courtroom drama featuring Taapsee Pannu, Rishi Kapoor, Prateik Babbar, Rajat Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana. Finally, Karwaan is a light comedy film that features Irrfan Khan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar in lead roles.

With such star cast and content, all the three movies are expected to impress the audience. Although these are not high budget films, several content-driven movies are making it big at the box office. Hence, none of the three films is likely to have a great start at the commercial circuits on Friday, but are expected to grow over the weekend through strong word-of-mouth.

However, there is another possibility, which might act adversely for the three films. If Fanney Khan, Mulk and Karwaan all turn out to be a crowd-puller, then it might affect their box office collection.

A special screening for Mulk has already happened, and critics are going gaga over the film. The film critics heaping praises on Mulk may act as an advantage for the courtroom drama and also lead to a decent business on its opening day.

Considering the current hype around the three films, Mulk, Karwaan and Fanney Khan are collectively expected to make a box office collection of around Rs 9-10 crore each at the domestic market on the first day.
