The dealers of Ford have started accepting bookings for the new Ford Figo hatchback in India ahead of its launch on 23 September. They confirmed that the new model can be booked against a down payment of Rs 25,000. Ford is expected to reveal the pricing of new Figo on 23 September (Wednesday).
For the uninitiated, the 2015 Figo hatchback, which is sold in Brazil as KA, is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh and in India the hot hatch will be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt.
From what we hear, the engine line-up of new Figo is likely to include 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine and 1.5-litre TDCi Duratorq engine. While the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine is expected to deliver 112 PS of power at 6,300 rpm and 136 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm, the diesel mill, which also does the duty in Figo Aspire, will continue to churn out 100 PS of power.
As for transmission, the petrol Figo hatch is speculated to get six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel model is likely to come paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The feature list of new Figo hatchback is expected to include dual front air bags, six anti-lock braking systems (ABS), Ford's SYNC multimedia system, automatic climate control and electronic brake force distribution (EBD).
