Just a few days stand between the hotly anticipated Ford's new Figo hatch and Indian auto lovers. Ahead of its official launch in the country, which is scheduled for 23 September, new details about the engine of the hot hatch Figo have hit the web.
The motor buffs at MotorBash reveal that the engine lineup of new Figo hatchback will include a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine mated to a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The petrol mill will be tuned to deliver 112 PS of power at 6,300 rpm and 136 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm. And if this rings true, the Figo hatch will position itself as one of the most powerful hatchback models in the country in terms of power.
The report also adds that the diesel variant of 2015 Figo will come equipped with a 1.5-litre TDCi Duratorq engine, which we have seen in the Figo Aspire and will continue to churn out the same 100 PS of power. The diesel engine is likely to come paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 2015 Figo hatchback, which is sold in Brazil as KA, is expected to house features like dual front air bags, six anti-lock braking systems (ABS), Ford's SYNC multimedia system, automatic climate control and electronic brake force distribution (EBD).
Likely to be priced at Rs 4 lakh, the 2015 Ford Figo hatchback will be squared off against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt. From what we hear, the new Ford has started reaching the dealerships of the company ahead of its official launch in India.
