Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada 2-day box office collection: EPC emerges as biggest opener for Nikhil Siddharth

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada (EPC) has made decent collection at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie has emerged as the biggest opener for actor Nikhil Siddharth.

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada had good amount of hype and promotion before its release. The movie was released in south India and few international markets and it did not hit screens in other parts of India. The film had an average advance booking for its opening day. The trade experts from T-Town were a bit sceptical about its prospects, as they thought that it would be affected by the demonetisation.

To everyone's surprise, the Nikhil Siddharth starrer opened to good response in the morning shows and it received positive talk from audience and critics. A strong word of mouth took its collection upwards in the later shows. Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada registered good collection at the worldwide box office on its opening day.

The Vi Anand-directed romantic thriller grossed Rs 2 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T), Rs 25 lakh in Karnataka, Rs 80 lakh in US and Rs 10 lakh in other parts of the globe. Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada has collected Rs 3.15 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day of its release. The movie has earned Rs 1.70 crore for its distributors on its opening day.

Nikhil Siddhartha's previous hit film Karthikeya have grossed Rs 2.5 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada. His another hit movie Surya Vs Surya grossed Rs 5 crore at the global box office in four-day-extended first weekend. His latest outing has more than half its first weekend collection on its opening day.

Many people in the industry are surprised by the superb opening of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada in the hard times created by demonetisation. Tollywood critic and trade analyst Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted: "#EkkadikiPothavuChinnavada defies demonitization and dull season by getting good crowds all over Telugu states. Going housefuls in weekend!"

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada remained strong on Saturday and collected Rs 3.35 crore gross at the worldwide box office on its second day. Its two-day global total has reached Rs 6.50 crore gross. G Sriniwasa Kumar tweeted: "Thrilling HiT #EkkadikiPothavuChinnavada grossed 6.5 crs in 2days.Reaching 10crs in weekend,kudos 2 @directorvianand for his amazing skills."
