The Delhi Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a seven-year-old girl in South Delhi's Tigri area on Saturday.

According to the police, three men picked up the girl from a park near her house on Saturday evening when she was playing with her friends, and took her to an isolated area where she was raped. 

The girl was spotted by people in the area who informed her family. The girl was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

"One of them (local people) informed us, after which we rushed her to hospital. We have been told that three men lured her away while she was playing in a park with other children. The police have apprehended only one suspect," Hindustan Times quoted the victim's sister as saying.

Based on the complaint filed by the family, the police have arrested one teenager, while two others are still at large.The girl's family knew the juvenile, according to NDTV report.

The police said the juvenile confessed to sodomising the girl. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Hindustan Times reported.

"The minor girl was sodomised by a minor boy known to her and he lives in the same locality. The crime is covered under the sections of rape and POCSO Act. We have apprehended the boy," said DCP (South) Prem Nath.

The incident took place just a day after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by six men inside a moving vehicle on Thursday. The men, including a neighbour, kidnapped her in the morning while she was on her way to school and took her to Dichaon village in the Najafgarh area and gang-raped her.

The police have arrested five accused while the sixth is absconding.
