The launch of Datsun's second offering in India Go+ MPV has been mostly confirmed as a new report of an automobile website claims that the company will pull the wraps off its new MPV in the country in January 2015.

Earlier this week, we had reported that the Datsun, the low cost brand of Nissan will be bringing its Go+ MPV in India next year and now a new report of Rushlane claims that the Nissan's newly appointed president Guillaume Sicard has confirmed that the company will present its new MPV to Indian auto lovers in January next year. However, the report does not reveal the exact launch date of the vehicle in India.

Datsun Go+ MPV, the bigger sibling of Datsun Go hatchback is expected to be a sub-four meter car and is likely to be offered only with a petrol engine. The MPV, which is already in the Indonesian market will pack 1,198cc three cylinder 12 valve petrol motor under the hood, which can churn out a power of 68PS @5,000rpm and a peak torque of 104nm @4,000rpm, coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox.

In Indonesia, the vehicle is priced at Rp85 million (₹4.42 lakh) for base variant and Rp102.9 million (₹5.36 lakh) for the top end model and when it comes to India, Datsun Go+ MPV is likely to carry the most affordable price tag in this segment in the range of ₹4.5 -6.5 lakh.

From the visual stand point, the upcoming Datsun Go+ MPV is likely to take design cues from its small hatchback Datsun GO and the vehicle is also expected to borrow some of the features of Go.

In India, the new Datsun MPV will be facing serious competitions from Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and Honda Mobilio.
