Nissan India's second offering after the Go hatchback, Go+ from its low cost brand Datsun will steer into the country market in the first part of 2015, confirms the company.

Datsun Go + MPV, Nissan's answer to Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga was expected to reach our Indian market during this festive season. Now a new report of The Economic Times, citing Nissan's newly appointed President Guillaume Sicard reveals that the Go+ MPV will make India debut only in next year.

Datsun, the low-cost brand of Nissan, which made its comeback to the India market with its hatchback Go is looking to expand its reach in the domestic market with the new launches. Though the first Go came to the market with high expectations, the car could not touch the estimated sale figures due to the poor branding.

Coming to the Datsun Go+ MPV, the car which is already on sales in Indonesia is expected to fall under sub-four meter category in India and is likely to take design cues from its smaller sibling Go.

From what we heard so far, the Go + MPV will pack 1,198cc 3 cylinder 12 valve petrol motor under the hood, which can churn out a power of 68PS @5,000rpm and a peak torque of 104nm @4,000rpm, coupled to 5-speed manual gearbox.

Previous reports have indicated that only the petrol version of MPV will be launched in India and will come in a total of three trims - D, A and T.

As far as the pricing of the upcoming Go+ MPV concerned, expect it to get a price tag in the range of ₹4.5 -6.5 lakh. In Indonesia, the vehicle is priced at Rp85 million (₹4.42 lakh) for base variant and Rp102.9 million (₹5.36 lakh) for top end model.

Once it's in the market, the GO+ MPV of Nissan will compete with the Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Honda Mobilio.
