Kritika Chaudhary, the actress who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her apartment in Mumbai on Monday, June 12, was murdered, the police confirmed. A case of murder has been filed by the police against an unidentified person.
The actress' post-mortem report revealed that she died of a serious head injury. "Police have received the post-mortem report some time back and after going through it, we have filed an offence of murder," Press Trust of India (PTI) quoted Paramjeet Dahiya, the deputy commissioner of Mumbai Police (Zone-IX), as saying.
"Initially, the Amboli police had registered a case of accidental death in this connection. Now, an offence of murder against an unidentified person has been registered and the probe is on," another officer told PTI.
Kritika's family members and friends are now being interrogated by the police. A neighbour, Abhimanyu Poojari, told the police that he had last seen Kritika six days ago. "She used to come here often to pray at the Sai temple," Poojari said.
Kritika's body was recovered by the police at around 3:45pm on Monday, when neighbours complained of foul smelling emanating from her flat. The 27-year-old actress had worked in a few Balaji Telefilm's TV shows, including the popular serial Parichay, and had also been a part of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer film, Rajjo.
