Border 2 has shown superb growth in its collection at the Indian box office on its second Saturday. Sunny Deol's film has topped the business chart, beating Rani Mukherji's latest release Mardaani 3.

It was predicted that Mardaani 3 would snatch some screens from Border 2 and take a toll on its collection by becoming first choice for the viewers. As predicted, Border 2 affected by the latter and showed steep decline in its numbers on its second Friday. But the movie went on to show big jump on Saturday.

Border 2 has collected Rs 20.14 crore net at the Indian box office on it ninth day, taking its domestic total to Rs 277.67 crore net. The movie is expected to show further jump in its collection on Sunday and surpass Rs 300 crore mark at Indian box office in 10 days.

On the other hand, Mardaani 3 was released in a large number of screens on January 30 and opened to a decent response. A strong word of mouth helped movie show over 50 percent growth on Saturday. The film has collected Rs 10 crore net at the Indian box office in two days.

Trade analyst predict that Mardaani 3 will show further growth on Sunday. Taran tweeted. "Sunday is also expected to witness an upswing, though footfalls may slow down post-evening shows since Monday is a working day. Going forward, the real test begins on Monday; a steady hold during the weekdays will be crucial."
