The recent mysterious death of 11 members of a family in Delhi's Burari area highlighted some weird occult practices and bizarre rituals that endorse human sacrifices. Now, another incident of extreme superstition came to the fore when a state-run hospital in Kolkata received a patient with multiple needles inserted in her throat. The 14-year old girl was admitted in a critical condition, a senior official of the hospital told media. The needles were found stuck inside the throat Aparupa Biswas a resident of Krishnanagar, Nadia district of West Bengal.

The initial investigation into the matter revealed that the needles were inserted in the throat of the girl by a tantrik as a part of some tantrik rituals. The team of doctors fought hard to save the life of the girl by bringing out the needles from the throat of the girl safely. The team of doctors operated on the girl for more than three hours to bring out the needles. A senior doctor of the NRS Hospital informed, "It was found out that the needles were actually inserted inside her throat from outside as part of some kind of tantrik ritual."

He further revealed that how and why needles were inserted inside the throat of the girl is still a mystery as the family members are silent and not eager to divulge details. Though the girl, who is still recuperating from her injuries and mental shock, disclosed her ordeal. She said, "I was adopted by the couple as they lost their only child three years ago."

The girl told the doctors that the couple started consulting the tantrik after observing some behavioural changes in her. Though the girl is out of danger, she will soon undergo mental counseling to soak in the shock.
