Despite the Kerala High Court's order to restrict the entry of private vehicles inside college campuses after the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) accident in August, a similar mishap has been reported from Kollam on 24 November.

In the latest incident, a 19-year-old second Hindi degree year student of Devaswom Board (DB) College was injured when a biker reportedly hit her while she was leaving the college at about 4 pm.

The student, Saina, was admitted to a private hospital, where she is kept under observation in the intensive care unit and her condition is said to be critical.

Local channels report that she has also undergone surgery and has internal bleeding in her brain.

Eyewitnesses claim that an outsider (Harikumar) came to the campus in an over-speeding two-wheeler and apparently inadvertently hit her.

The Sasthamkotta police will investigate the case.

Earlier, a professor had also met with a similar accident inside the DB College campus.
