The Prabhas starrer has opened to positive reviews from the audience and critics in Tamil Nadu. With huge promotions and positive buzz, the multilingual film raked in ₹5.10 crore on the release day from Tamil and Telugu versions.

The movie enjoyed an average of 65% occupancy in the state and it crossed 95% in Chennai. With the film getting a good word-of-mouth, it retained the response on the second day, when the film grossed ₹5.15 crore from both the versions.

By the end of two days, the total business made by "Baahubali" stands at ₹10.25 crore. Confirming the news, leading critic and trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai posted, "#Baahubali - TN Gross Tamil & Telugu versions - Friday : Rs 5.10 Cr + Saturday : Rs 5.15 Cr. Total 2 days Gross = Rs 10.25 Cr. Excellent."

The film is distributed by K Gnanavelraja in the state. While the Telugu version has been released in 46 screens, the Tamil version has been released in 333 screens in the state to take the total tally to 379.

This is highly commendable for a film, which does not have a Kollywood star in the main role. It is just the brand Rajamouli that has done the miracle for the flick in Tamil Nadu. The future looks amazingly brilliant for "Baahubali" on Sunday given the positive response it is garnering across the state.

Meanwhile, the worldwide business made by "Baahubali" has reportedly grossed over ₹100 crore in two days worldwide. It has been released in four languages (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam) in 4,200 screens.
