Arjun Kapoor starrer crime and action thriller, "Aurangzeb" had a disappointing start at the domestic box office. The film was expected to have a decent occupancy at the theaters across the country, but the thriller movie had a lukewarm start.
On the opening day, the Yash Raj Film's collected just ₹3.92 crore at the domestic box office. The film features big stars like Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rishi Kapoor, Sashaa Agha, Swara Bhaskar, Jackie Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.
The film registered occupancy of around 20 to 25 percent in theaters across the country. The collection at single screens were much better than that of multiplexes.
Trade analysts had huge expectations from the film because it featured Arjun in dual roles, besides YRF promoting the film well but it didn't live up to the expectations.
The opening weekend and weekday's business will decide the fate of the crime thriller "Aurangzeb".
The dual-role formula has always worked for Bollywood. Films like "Bol Bachchan" and "Rowdy Rathore" were box office hits. But "Aurangzeb" failed to create its magic on movie buffs on the opening day. Also, the film failed to impress the critics, but Arjun Kapoor's performance was much appreciated.
