After winning many accolades for the Malayalam short film "Remaniyechiyude Namathil" (In the name of Remaniyechi), director Liju Thomas is all set to make a mark in Mollywood with his upcoming movie.
Actor Asif Ali has announced his association with Liju for the upcoming movie, which also has Biju Menon and Narain in lead. The movie, which has been titled "Kavi Uddheshichathu..?" (Kavi Udeshichathu), is expected to go on floors April 20.
Kerala State Film Award winner Shehnad Jalal will handle the cinematography of the movie, for which Kutty Martin will do the scripting. The movie will also have crew members from the award-winning short film. The Liju directorial will be the third production venture of Asif under his home banner Adam's World of Imagination, after its debut movie "Kohinoor" and upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer "Beautiful Game."
"I have some exciting news to share with you all. Adam's World of Imagination's next production venture, which has been titled 'Kavi Uddheshichathu..?,' will start rolling soon. The movie will be directed by Liju Thomas, scripted by Kutty Martin, cinematography by Shehnad Jalal and [feature] other crew members of award winning short film 'Remaniyechiyude Namathil.' I feel happy and proud to bring the team of 'Remaniyechi,' which had won more than 54 awards at various International Film Festivals, to the world of cinema under our home banner. The movie will have Biju Menon, Narain and me in the main roles. I request the blessing and prayers of you all," Asif Ali wrote on his Facebook page in Malayalam.
Meanwhile, Asif, who was last seen in the cop movie "Ithu Thaanda Police," also has handful of projects in his kitty, including Khalid Rahman's "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam," Shanil Mohammed's "Avarude Raavukal," Rohith V S' "Adventures Of Omanakuttan" and Kalavoor Ravikumar's "Silent Radio."
