Surprises are always the best way to express love and when it includes a lot of hardwork, it becomes the most incredible gift. Popular American actor Ashton Kutcher did something similar to make his mother, Diane Finnegan Kutcher, feel special when she returned home after 27 days.
The celeb wanted to thank his mother for all the sacrifices she had made for him. So he decided to renovate the basement of her home in Iowa with the help of his stepfather, Mark, and a home remodelling and design website, Houzz.
"This is my way of saying thank you to my mom. My mom has been the great influence of in my life. My parents gave me everything. They went to great sacrifices to give me the life that I have and anything that I can do to say thank you is the right thing to do," the 37-year-old said about re-modelling the house.
However, the greatest challenge faced by him was to hide the surprise from Diane. His fiancée Mila Kunis helped him by calling Diane to Los Angeles for helping her out with their newborn daughter Wyatt.
But when his mother returned home after 27 days and saw her renovated basement, she could not hold back her tears. She kept on repeating the word "awesome" after visiting every room. "I went to visit Ashton and the new baby and they decided they needed me to stay out there for a little while to help. And I come, and this is what I find. It does mean a lot to me, it's beautiful," she said.
