Since December 2014, Samsung had been releasing Lollipop update in phases across Europe, America and East Asia to Snapdragon 801 series based Galaxy S5. This is first time the company has finally shown interest in deploying updates to the 3G variant.
So if history is taken as any indicator, it's just a matter of time, probably by this month end, Indian owners can experience the sweet taste of Lollipop on their Galaxy S5 3G.
[Note: Samsung releases different models to particular regions based on network connectivity. In India, the company has launched both - 3G and 4G - Galaxy S5 models].
