The holiday season is upon us and online shopping saves a lot of time and money with its festive offers. But if you have been trying to buy an Amazon Echo before Christmas, you might be out of luck.

As the Wall Street Journal pointed out, Amazon Echo might not be ready to be shipped before the big festival, but one can simply drop by Amazon's brick-and-mortar stores and pick one up. According to the report, three brick-and-mortar bookstores and nearly 30 pop-up store locations had the Amazon Echo in stock.

Amazon Echo, which was launched in late 2014, has met with great appreciation and the company said that it has sold millions of the devices. It directly competes against the likes of Google Home and upcoming big shot devices from Apple and Microsoft alike. But the Echo's attractive pricing, Alexa-integration and its deep third-party integration has led to its success.

At the time of this writing, Amazon Echo is out of stock. The product listing says that the product will be available on January 18, 2017. The Echo comes in black and white colour options and sells for $139.99 in the US after its 22 percent discount.

But if you think the discount is exclusive to online store, you are mistaken. According to WSJ, one of the reporters in San Diego was able to pick up the Echo at its online price. It was also noted that there were plenty in stock.

So, if you are considering picking up the Echo before Christmas, checking out the nearest Amazon bookstore is your safest bet. It might be possible that one of two stores might not have them in stock due to the holiday demand, but you will not be disappointed with a bit of extended search.
