Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has stunned the world again and this time in an Indian avatar. Be it Indian or western, Aishwarya has the charm to pull off any style.
Recently, the beauty queen attended an event in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, wearing a sari. The 40-year-old actress looked stunningly gorgeous in the red and black sari with golden embroidered bordered designed by her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
An exquisite pair of golden earrings and mogra around her bun completed her gorgeous Indian traditional look.
Aishwarya attended the event as a brand ambassador of a stem cell banking group on Parents Day. During the event, she talked about why she decided to go in for stem cell banking (a facility that stores stem cells derived from amniotic fluid for future use) for her two-and-a-half year old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The Bollywood diva also said that she donated her umbilical cord stem cells when Aaradhya was born in November 2011.
"The decision to bank umbilical cord cell had to be taken at a time when I was taking baby steps to parenthood. And on our part, we did some research, spoke to friends and our families, of course. We were informed about it," she said during the event, according to Press Trust of India.
"Knowledge can be very useful and once we were aware of the potential of stem cell banking, the decision was natural and we recognised how stem cells are such a precious gift that can be given to our children."
"I think that every expecting parent in our country should become aware of stem cell banking. Stem cells from the umbilical cord is a nature given resource. That needs to be preserved," she added.

Last week, the actress was in London to attend the opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow. The "Devdas" actress had attended the event as a brand ambassador of a watch brand.
And for her appearance, she had chosen a western outfit. She looked beautiful in Gucci Pre Fall 2014 black trench coat dress teamed with a teal clutch.
