Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will finally return to silver screen after a gap of almost four years with Sanjay Gupta's film.

Post the birth of her daughter, Aaradhya, Aishwarya has been in news for her comeback films. Speculations were rife that she would return to big screen with Mani Ratnam's film. But Gupta's recent tweet has confirmed the news that she will return to films with his flick.

"Yes guys it's true. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the dynamic female lead in my action/thriller JAZBAA," Gupta posted on his Twitter handle.

Even, the former Miss World's spokesperson has confirmed the news of her comeback film.

This will be the first time Gupta and Bachchan bahu will come together for a project. Gupta is known for making dark thriller films and his latest venture starring Aishwarya Rai will be no different.

"Jazbaa will be an action thriller drama, in which Aishwarya features as a very strong female lead. In fact, her character is so strong that she is more like the hero of the film, than a lead actress," Gupta, who is also producing the film, told Bollywood Hungama.

Apart from Aishwarya, the film will have two male leads and it will go on floors next year.

Aishwarya Rai has two more projects in her hands including Ratnam's untitled film and Prahlad Kakkar's directorial debut "Happy Anniversary."

Ratnam's film will feature Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, Aishwarya Rai and Shruti Hassan in the lead roles and it will be a spy thriller. The film was supposed to go on floors in June, but the shooting has been postponed due to Mahesh's date issues, according to Daily Bhaskar.

The spy thriller will now go on floors in August or September depending on the lead actors' availability.

The second film is "Happy Anniversary" in which the former Miss World will be paired opposite her husband Abhishek Bachchan. Bollywood diva and former beauty queen Sushmita Sen has also been signed in for the film. [Read the report here]
