Just a few days after 11 members of a family were found hanging at their home in Delhi's Burari, another similar mass suicide has taken place in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi. The latest incident of mass suicide took place in the Kanke police station area.

This time, seven people of a family took their lives, reported Zee News. It is not yet known as to when the incident took place. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are currently trying to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.

This is the second mass suicide which has rattled Jharkhand in a span of 20 days.

On July 15, a family of six was found dead at their residence in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh. While the oldest member of the family, a 70-year-old Mahavir Maheswari and his wife Kiran were found hanging from the ceilings in two different room, their daughter-in-law Priti was found dead on a bed.

Mahavir's grandchildren, a 10-year-old Aman was found lying on another bed with his throat slit and his seven-year-old sister Annvi was found on a sofa with several pieces of cotton in her mouth. Reports had said that Mahavir's son Naresh Maheshwari was the last one to take the extreme step of killing himself. He jumped to death from the top floor of the building.

According to the family's suicide notes, illnesses, financial woes, shop closure, borrowings, and disgrace, were a few of the reasons because of which they were taking their own lives.

Earlier this month, 11 members of the Bhatia family in Delhi had hanged themselves at their residence. Their death had comes as a shock to many as the family was not undergoing any crisis. The case got bizarre day by day as notes found in a register suggested that they were killing themselves as part of a "thanksgiving ritual". The register also had details about how the family should carry out a ritual, which eventually led to their deaths.

The instructions were listed under a title which said "Bhagwaan ka raasta (Road to god)". Reports also said that the Burari family suffered from "shared psychosis," due to which they believed that the late father of Lalit Bhatia was speaking to them and wanted them to perform the ritual.

The police are yet to solve the case of the Burari family suicide.
