Director Aejaz Gulab's highly-anticipated Bollywood film "Ab Tak Chhappan 2" (ATC 2) finally released in theatres worldwide on 27 February. The Nana Patekar starrer has received mixed response from film-goers.
"Ab Tak Chhappan 2" is a sequel to Ram Gopal Varma's 2004 crime thriller "Ab Tak Chhappan", which was inspired by the life of a Mumbai Police sub-Inspector Daya Nayak. The movie revolves around Inspector Sadhu Agashe who is famous for having killed 56 people in encounters.
Raju Chada and Gopal Dalvi have produced "Ab Tak Chhappan 2", which has been written by Nilesh Girkar. Nana Patekar and Mohan Agashe are seen playing the same roles, Inspector Sadhu Agashe and Ex Commissioner Pradhan, that they essayed in the prequel.
The makers of "Ab Tak Chhappan 2" have changed all cast and crew other than these two actors. Gul Panag, Govind Namdev, Raj Zutshi, Vikram Gokhale and Ashutosh Rana are seen in important roles in the movie, which has Amal Mallik's music and Siddharth More's cinematography.
Many movie buffs, who watched "Ab Tak Chhappan 2" on its opening day, say that the movie does not have a fresh story. Nana Patekar's sterling performance is the main highlight of the film and it is also the only saving grace of the movie.
