Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Aamir Khan, Malayalam actors Mammootty and Jayasurya among others are reportedly being considered for the Best actor title in 62nd National Film Awards.

But as per reports, Malayalam actor Mammootty might win the title for the fourth time.

"Mammootty is being considered for the title for his performance in Munnariyippu," The Times of India quoted sources as saying.

Mammootty had won accolades for playing the role of an ex-convict CK Raghavan in Venu's directorial movie "Munnariyippu". It is said to be one of Mammootty's best performances ever.

In 1990, he won the first National Film Award for Best Actor for the movie "Mathilukal". He won second and third award for his roles in Adoor Gopalakrishnan's "Vidheyan" and T V Chandran's "Ponthan Mada".

Meanwhile, Bollywood actors Shahid and Aamir are also considered to be strongest contenders for the title.

This year 11 Malayalam films have been submitted for the Best Film category, including "Munnariyippu", "Oraalppokkam", "Njan" and "Compartment" among others.

President Pranab Mukherjee will present the awards to winners on 3 May at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
