As AJ Styles aka The Phenomenal One retained his WWE Championship at the recent TLC 2016 event, rumour mills are now working overtime with regard to future storylines. One interesting rumour that has popped up at this instant is the battle between Styles and The Undertaker (aka The Phenom).

This purported 'dream match' is rumoured to take place at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled to be held on January 29, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas in the US. Also, rumour mills are rife with reports about this match involving Styles defending his World Championship against The Undertaker. Bookies have already started estimating that The Undertaker would emerge victorious in this match-up; and would wrestle his last match at Wrestlemania 33 (slated to be held during April 2017) against John Cena where the latter is speculated to emerge as the winner.

Rumours about the 'dream match' between AJ Styles and The Undertaker first surfaced after The Undertaker made an appearance on the 900th episode of WWE Smackdown just before the Survivor Series PPV. Now, with Styles having retained the WWE Championship at WWE TLC 2016 over Dean Ambrose, the dream match rumours have acquired substance.

As of now, it is not confirmed if The Undertaker would be a part of the Royal Rumble PPV, speculations are also rife about Bill Goldberg (a confirmed participant at the Rumble main event match) emerging victorious in the Royal Rumble and then feuding with The Undertaker (yet another dream match) at next year-s Wrestlemania.

Nonetheless, the rumoured Phenom vs The Phenomenal One sounds more interesting considering the identical successful career paths that both Styles as well as The Undertaker have had. Therefore, it only makes sense for these wrestling veterans to clash at the earliest.
