Soon-to-be released Sony Xperia Z4 has been spotted at a popular benchmarking site, revealing the key features of the flagship smartphone.
Netherland-based technology blog Mobifo, while leafing through GFX Benchmarking site, stumbled upon a Sony device codenamed E6553 which is understood to be the flagship smartphone Xperia Z4.
At the entry, Xperia Z4 is shown running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS and powered by Snapdragon 810 Octa-core CPU, Adreno 430 graphics engine, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.
On photography front, it is said to sport 20.7-megapixel camera on rear-side, same as its predecessor Z3, but at the front, the company has bumped the front-facing camera to 5.0-megapixels with full HD video recording ability, whereas the Xperia Z3 features a 2.2-megapixel snapper at the front.
The features noted in the GFX benchmarking site are in line with previous reports, except display specifications. Speculations were rife that Xperia Z4, like rivals Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge) and soon-to-be released LG G4, would boast QHD (2560x1440p) display, but GFX site shows Sony's new phone will have full HD display.
Even if the company chooses to go with full HD screen, fans need not get disappointed because QHD display is more of a marketing gimmick, than value-added feature. Most research studies have shown that the human eye fails to distinguish the difference in display resolution beyond HD (1280x720p).
Moreover, this high-resolution QHD screen will hog more power and in turn drain the phone's battery.
That said, nothing is set in stone. Despite so much speculations flying around on the internet, Sony has maintained a stoic silence. We will update you with more news on Xperia Z4 as and when we get more details.
