Finally, the day is here. The hotly anticipated small hatch Kwid from the house of Renault goes on sale in India on 24 September (Thursday) with a price tag starting at Rs 2.56 lakh.( Ex-showroom Delhi).
Launched in four variants -- Standard, RxE, RxL and RxT -- Renault Kwid measures 3679mm in length, 1579mm in height and 1471mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2422mm with class leading ground clearance of 180 mm and a boot capacity of 300 litres.

Renault Kwid, a small hatch that takes pride in its SUV design, was unveiled in May and since then the car has been creating ripples across the auto world corridor. The Kwid has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and reports, and the auto enthusiasts have a clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of the new hatch in the entry level segment.
Under the hood Renault Kwid gets 799cc 3-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 54PS and a peak torque of 72Nm. The transmission in Kwid is likely to be taken care of either by a manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Kwid, which will be pitted against Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon, will offer the best-in-class mileage at 25.17kmpl.
To be offered in five exterior colour choices -- Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver and Outback Bronze -- Renault Kwid is said to be a feature-rich model in its segment. Kwid will have the segment's first ever touchscreen Media-Nav Navigation System with a seven-inch display, digital instrument console, chrome touched tail lights and side body cladding.
Besides this, Renault Kwid will also have release six accessory packs for Kwid -- Smart Chrome, Intense Chrome, Luxury pack, Outdoor pack, Basic pack and Essential Pack. While the exterior accessories of new Kwid will include bumper corner protector, exhaust finishers, fog light enclosure, door handles, window visors, tail lights, boot lid, alloy wheels, crossover-like roof racks and side moulding, the cabin accessories of Kwid is expected to have ambient lighting, fancy floor mats, seat cover, steering wheel cover and gear-shift chrome bezel.
The bookings for Renault Kwid are underway in the country against a down payment of Rs 5,000 and the Kwid can also be booked through new Kwid App, which is available for download on Google play store.
