French auto maker Renault is expected to launch its new offering Kwid in the lucrative small car market in September. Ahead of its official launch in India, the media-drive for Kwid began in Goa on 10 September (Thursday).

Unveiled in May, Kwid, the rival of Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon, will be priced in the range of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. The bookings for Kwid are already open in the country and the company has also initiated a pre-launch contest for Kwid named 'Crazy for Kwid'.

From the details that are coming out from the Media-drive, OnCars.in reports that Renault Kwid, the hot hatch in the Indian market, will be offered in four variants -- Standard, RxE, RxL and RxT -- and will be available in five exterior body shades of Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver and Outback Bronze.

In terms of dimensions, Kwid measures 3679mm long, 1579mm tall and 1471mm wide. It has an impressive wheelbase of 2422mm and offers a ground clearance of 180mm.

Under the hood, Renault Kwid packs 799cc 3-cylinder petrol motor that is tuned to churn out 54PS and a peak torque of 72Nm. The Kwid, which will come with 2 year and 50,000 kms warranty, claims to deliver the best-in class mileage 25.17kmpl. The Kwid also has 300-litres boot space.

Renault Kwid will house a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB/AUX and Bluetooth connectivity and the car will come with 60 accessories for customisation.
