New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): While reaching out to labour representatives to seek their feedback for the party manifesto for the upcoming 2014 elections, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said that the objective of his party was to uplift 700 million skilled labourers to middle-class level. Gandhi said the opinions of the labour groups would be incorporated while deciding the manifesto of the Congress party. Earlier, Gandhi vowed to uplift the condition of country's 700 million labourers, promising a better life to this section on given an opportunity to form the government after the national polls due before May. India, Fiji sign DTAA to avoid double taxation

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): India and Fiji signed a pact to avoid double taxation and to facilitate mutual economic co-operation between the two countries. The Government of India signed the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) with the Government Fiji that also provides for exchange of banking information for tax administration purpose. The pact was signed in New Delhi by India’s Finance Minister P Chidambaram and the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on behalf of the Government of Fiji. In the last five to six years, the directorate of Agriculture along with the horticulture Department, Fisheries directorate, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry directorate has been trying to boost production in the state to meet the food demands.
