The year 2017 was indeed a great year for Mollywood with the release of many blockbusters and good entertainers. Several melodious movie songs released this year also impressed music-lovers in Kerala.

Entammede Jimikki Kammal

First and foremost is undoubtedly the most popular song released in 2017: Entammede Jimikki Kammal, compiosed by Shaan Rahman.

The hilariously folkish number sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan and Renjith Unni crossed boundaries and impressed millions of music lovers across the globe.

The song from Mohanlal's Velipadinte Pusthakam, penned by Anil Panachooran, is one of the most -watched videos on YouTube with over 55 million views within four months.

Kannile Poika

Ganesh Sundaram and Sowmya Ramakrishnan have lent their voice for the song Kannile Poika from the superhit movie Thondimuthalum Drisksakshiyum. Rafeeq Ahammed has penned the lyrics of the song, for which Bijibal has composed the music.

The melody picturised on Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan from Dileesh Pothan's directorial venture has been viewed over 2 million times on YouTube India in less than six months.

Njanum Neeyum

The romantic song Njanum Neeyum, filmed on Pranav Ratheesh and Maria Yohannan, is from the Malayalam movie Theeram. Shreya Ghoshal and Quincy Chettupally have sung the number for which Harinarayanan BK has penned the lyrics and Afzal Yusuff has composed the music.

It is one of the top-watched video songs released this year with over 5 million views within seven months.

Njan Varumee Paadhayil

Another romantic melody, Njan Varumee Paadhayil, from director Saheed Arafath's Theeram is one of the more popular songs released in 2017. Armaan and Tabitha Chettupally have sung the song while Afzal Yusuff has composed it.

Rinu Razak has written the lyrics of the song, which has been watched over 2.8 million times on YouTube.

Thambiran 

Vipin Raveendran has rendered his voice for the Thambiran song from the horror thriller Ezra. Featuring Sudev Nair and Ann Sheetal, the song takes us back to 1940s' Kochi. Sushin Shyam has composed the song for which lyrics were penned by Anwar Ali.

Kadavathoru Thoni

After the song Poomaram emerged as the most-watched in 2016, another melody from Abrid Shine's directorial venture Poomaram has become the favourite of music lovers.

Karthik has sung Kadavathoru Thoni, filmed on Kalidas Jayaram, while Leela L Girikkuttan has composed the music and Ajeesh Dasan penned the words.

More than 2.2 million viewers have watched the official song video within seven months of its release.

Ozhukiyozhuki

Featuring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Rajisha Vijayan, the song Ozhukiyozhuki from the movie Oru Cinemaakkaran has been watched over 2.4 million times on YouTube.

Rafeeq Ahammed has written the song for which Bijibal has composed the music. Haricharan and Shweta Mohan have sung the melody from Leo Thaddeus' directorial venture.

Another song from the film Chirakukalaayi, written by BK Harinarayanan, composed by Bijibal and sung by Arun Alat is also a popular song among the music lovers.

Enthavo 

Premam-fame Althaf Salim's directorial debut Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela garnered stupendous response from the audience. The songs from the Nivin Pauly-starrer also impressed viewers.

The romantic song Enthavo, composed by Justin Varghese and written by Santhosh Varma, is one of the popular tracks in 2017.

Sung by Sooraj Santhosh, the official video song has been viewed over 4.4 million times within four months.

Music composer Justin's another melody Nanavere from the movie, penned by Santhosh Varma and rendered by Tessa Chavara and Vipin Lal has also impressed the audience with over 1.3 million views.

Ee Kaattu

Ee Kaattu Vannu, Deepak Dev's composition for Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Adam Joan, crossed 8 million views on YouTube within four months of its release. Penned by Hari Narayanan BK, the song has Karthik's voice and displays Prithviraj and Mishti's romantic moments.

The two other songs Eden Thottam and Arikil Ini Njaan Varaam are also the favourite tracks released this year.

Kayalirambilu

The interesting music by Bijibal for the song Kayalirambilu from Neeraj Madhav and Reba Monica-starrer Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam makes it unique.

Bijibal and Ann Amie have sung the song in which lyricist Santhosh Varma also describes the water shortage issues faced by people in an area in Kochi.

Aaro Nenjil 

All the compositions of Shaan Rahman from the sports film Godha have impressed music-lovers. Among them, the track Aaro Nenjil, picturised on Tovino Thomas and Wamiqa Gabbi, is the most popular one.

Manu Manjith has written it while Gowry Lekshmi has rendered her voice for the song, which has been viewed over 4.8 million times since April 1 this year.

All other songs from Godha including Wow, Kannanjunnoru Naadu, O Rabba, Innalekalil, are also among the hit tracks this year.

Sita Kalyanam

Bejoy Nambiar's bilingual anthology movie Solo has a total of 21 songs, and almost all of them are fan-favourite. Sooraj S Kurup's Sita Kalyanam is one of the most-accepted songs from the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer, with lines written by Sangeeth Ravindran.

Renuka Arun and Sooraj have lent their voice for the song and its lyric video has been viewed 6 million times on YouTube.

Roshomon

Prashant Pillai's fast number, penned by Mohan Raj, is another hit track from the Solo movie.

The video song has been shot on DQ  and Neha Sharma, and is sung by Ashwin Gopakumar, Arun Kamath, Niraj Suresh, Sachin Raj, Rakesh Kishore and Alfred Eby Issac.

The other songs — Singa KuttyAal Ayaal, Aigiri Nandini, Shiv Tandav and Sajan More Ghar Aaye — are also the hit tracks of the year.

Nenjil Ee Nenjil

Actor Soubin Shahir's debut directorial venture Parava is one of the best films released in 2017. Child actors Amal Shah and Govind V Pai rose to fame with their natural performances in the family entertainer, and the song Nenjil Ee Nenjil is one of the most popular Malayalam tracks released this year. 

Vinayak Sasikumar has penned the lyrics, while Rex Vijayan has composed and sung the melody. More than 5.6 million users have watched its video in less than three months.

Ormakal 

Young star Dulquer Salmaan, who appeared in an extended cameo in Parava, also turned a playback singer for the film. The actor's song, composed by Rex Vijayan and written by Vinayak Sasikumar, has been watched over 2.1 million times on YouTube.

Theyaame

Lijo Jose Pellissery's realistic drama Angamaly Diaries has a total of seven songs by music composer Prashant Pillai. Theyaame, sung by Angamaly Pranchi and Shreekumar Vakkiyil, is the favourite of many. The video song showing the life of people in Angamaly has been viewed over 5.8 million times within 10 months.

La La Vettam

The melody La La Vettam, sung by Shreekumar Vakkiyil, is another popular track from Angamaly Diaries.

While Preeti Pillai has penned the lyrics, Prashant Pillai has composed the song, which has over 2 million views on YouTube.

Other songs — Thana Dhina, Ayalathe and Chayakkadakara — from Lijo's directorial venture have impressed the music lovers.

Kandittum Kandittum

Legendary singer KJ Yesudas' latest song from the crime thriller Villain has also impressed the viewers in Kerala.

BK Harinarayanan has written the lyrics of the song, composed by 4 Musics. The video song from Mohanlal and Manju Warrier's film has been watched over 3 million times.

Kannil Kannil

Haricharan Seshadri and Sayanora Philip's song penned by Rafeeq Ahammed and composed by Gopi Sundar is one of the catchiest ones released in 2017.

The romantic track from Comrade in America has been shot on Dulquer Salmaan and Karthika Muraleedharan and has been viewed over 3.5 million times within seven months.

 

Anuragam Puthumazha Pole

Actor Unni Mukundan made his debut as a playback singer with the Malayalam movie Achayans.

The melody Anuragam Puthumazha Pole, sung by the young actor, received positive response from the audience. Ratheesh Vega has penned and composed the song.
