With the success of the blockbuster action thriller Janatha Garage, Mohanlal seems to be getting established in the Tollywood market, the sole reason why his hit Malayalam movies are being dubbed in Telugu. The versatile actor's recent outing Pulimurugan, which opened to tremendous response from the audience in Kerala, has been well-accepted by the Telugu audience after its dubbed version Manyam Puli was released worldwide.

Now, Telugu version of the actor's another hit movie that was released recently is set to hit the screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana soon. Dilip Kumar Bolugoti of Overseas Network Entertainment, who has bagged the dubbing rights of the crime thriller Oppam, will release it in December this year.

Mohanlal on a roll: The winner of 2016 with three blockbusters

The Telugu version titled Kanupapa, has been scheduled to hit the screens on December 30. If Kanupapa emerges as a winner this Christmas season, it will become his hattrick hit in Telugu within four months. 

In the Priyadarshan directorial, written by Govind Vijayan, superstar Mohanlal plays the role of a visually-challenged person, who unveils the mystery behind the death of a judge using his extraordinary sense of smell, hearing, and touch. The movie also stars Baby Meenakshi, Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Anusree, Aju Varghese, Vimala Raman and Renji Panicker in significant roles.

The crime thriller marked the comeback of Mohanlal and Priyadarshan, who have delivered many successful movies in Malayalam. It has completed a dream run of over 100 days at the Kerala box office upon its release on September 8. Bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas, Oppam has become the second top biggest grosser in Malayalam after Pulimurugan surpassing the records of Mohanlal's blockbuster Drishyam.

Meanwhile, the action thriller, Manyam Puli is estimated to have earned a gross collection of Rs 2.5 crore within three days of its release from worldwide screens.
