Superstar Mohanlal and hit filmmaker Priyadarshan have delivered many superhit Malayalam movies together, and the actor-director duo is set to make a comeback with "Oppam."

In the upcoming crime thriller, which also stars child artiste Meenakshi of "Amar Akbar Anthony" fame in the main role, Mohanlal plays a blind lift operator who becomes the only witness of a crime. The movie is scheduled to hit the screens as an Onam release on Sept. 8. Now sources close to the industry hint that the Mohanlal-starrer will hit the screens in UAE-GCC as well as Europe a week after its initial release in Kerala.

"Oppam," which is being bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwar Cinemas, will be released in Europe by PJ Entertainments on Onam festival, which falls on Sept. 1. "It will start in limited theatres on 14th and full release will be from 23rd," Prajeesh Kumar of PJ Entertainments told International Business Times, India. The Mohanlal-starrer will be released all over UAE and GCC on Sept. 15.

Meanwhile, the movie's one-minute 46-second trailer and the first video song, which begins with the lines "Minungum Minnaminuge," have already been garnering positive response from the audience. While the trailer has crossed one million views on the YouTube page of Aashirvad Cinemas, the melody sung by MG Sreekumar and Sreya Jayadeep, has been viewed more than five lakh times within a week of its release on the video-sharing page of Sathyan Audios.

"Oppam" will be locking horns with Jeethu Joseph and Prithviraj Sukumaran's revenge thriller "Oozham," which has been scheduled to hit the screens on Sept. 8. The Mohanlal-starrer will also be pitted against the Onam releases, "Oru Muthassi Gadha," "Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" and Oru Mugan" at the Kerala box office.
