Maruti Suzuki's YBA compact SVU has been spied testing in India yet again, indicating that the launch of the car is imminent.

The new YBA SUV, the car maker's upcoming offering, has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy images and leaked reports. The latest spy pictures have been posted by folks at Auto car India. Although the new set of pics do not reveal much about the Maruti YBA, the repeated sightings of the car on Indian roads signals the car has entered final production stages.

Judging from the images, the YBA, which seemed to have borrowed its design cues from Suzuki's global model Vitara, gets 'open-mounted' lower air dam, front grille with chrome-touch, raked windscreen and cladding on the wheel arches. In the pictures, the YBA is seen highly camouflaged. Maruti is expected to debut the YBA at the 2016 Auto Expo, reports Auto Car India. It is not clear whether the YBA will be sold through Maruti's new Nexa premium chain or regular dealerships in India.

Under the hood, the Maruti YBA is expected to carry 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. The YBA SUV, a sub-4m model, could also get Maruti's latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology, which was debuted with Ciaz SHVS.

To be pitted against the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in India, the YBA is likely to cost between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8.2 lakh. The Maruti YBA is expected to get features like key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).
