A new batch of spy shots of Maruti Suzuki's upcoming compact SUV YBA aka Vitara has hit the web, fuelling a fresh round of whispers in the auto world, with some predicting the model is poised for an India launch soon.
Team Fiat Moto Club member, Asif Shereef, has shared the pictures of the Suzuki Vitara believed to have been taken inside Maruti's plant. Although it is not clear whether Maruti Suzuki is planning to drive in YBA aka Vitara soon to India, the general consensus is that the SUV could be premiered at the Auto Expo, 2016. In the images, the Vitara is seen in its completely undisguised form.
The YBA SUV, a sub-4m model based on Suzuki iV-4 concept SUV that was seen at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, is likely to be launched in India by 2017.
Under the hood, the Maruti YBA SUV is expected to carry 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. Expected to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8.2 lakh, the YBA will rival Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in India.
The YBA SUV is likely to feature key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
