Among Eid releases, it is Mammootty's "Kasaba" that has ranked on top at the Kerala box office and is set to become one of the highest grossing films of the megastar. Three other Malayalam movies — "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam," "Karinkunnam 6's" and "Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum" also hit the theatres this festive season as a treat to the Kerala audience.
A trade analyst told International Business Times India that the Khalid Rahman-directed romantic family entertainer "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam" has grossed Rs. 3.87 crore with Rs. 3.18 crore net amount within seven days of its release at the Kerala box office. Meanwhile, previous Malayalam releases, including "Kammatipaadam," "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" and "Happy Wedding" are still running well at the Kerala box office. While Dulquer Salmaan and Nivin Pauly's movies have entered the list of blockbusters of the year, Siju Wilson's "Happy Wedding" has become the surprise hit of the year minting an approximate gross collection of Rs. 7.35 crore within 53 days of its run in Kerala.
