Here's what Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has to say about man's suicide after 'Solvathellam Unmai' show

Filmmaker and actress Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has landed in trouble after a middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide in Tamil Nadu. According to the latest report, Nagappan, who hails from Vedavakkam, took the extreme step after he was allegedly insulted during the show, "Solvathellam Unmai," hosted by Lakshmy on Zee Tamil channel.

The talk show, which deals with emotions, family issues and spot solutions, had recently presented the issues faced by a single mother, who is raising her two girl children after her husband expired some years ago. During the show, the woman accused her sister's husband, who started living with her, of triying to sexually abuse the older daughter, who was then 13 years old. After she noticed bite marks on the breasts of the younger girl as well, the single mother came forward to reveal the story. 

However, after the accused committed suicide, Lakshmy was criticised heavily by netizens. Now the actress has opened up on the matter with a detailed Facebook post, in which she has emphasised that more than a suicide, it as a matter of the sexual abuse of two minor girls and exploitation of a mother.

"The man has been sexually abusing the girl whenever he came home. This was conveyed to us by the mother and the older daughter and the younger one confirmed it. The mother and the girls wanted the man to be away from them and not disturb them anymore. She wanted him to be back with his wife. The wife refused to accept him back as she said, the man spoke indecently to their own daughters!! She wanted him to be punished, but the girl's mother just wanted him to go away [sic]," Lakshmy posted on her Facebook account on Monday, Aug. 29.

The "Aarohanam" director also claims that the mother and the minor girls had agreed to lodge a complaint with the police and juvenile board, after the board members of "Solvathellam Unmai' had advised them about it.

We should encourage kids and parents to come out in open and talk. They need not feel guilty as they did nothing wrong. In this particular case mother was scared to give complaint and unfortunately the man committed suicide [sic]."

The Malayalam and Tamil actress has also criticised Tamil channel Polimer TV for telecasting a news on the suicide and her show, and diverting attention from the original issue. 

Imagine what the mother and kids would be going thru! Polimer tv did not take my version.before publishing the news. Whereas the man was present in the studio when all the 4 women accused him. He could have strongly refused if he had done nothing wrong. There were cases like that earlier. But he kept quite after sometime as his very own wife declared him as a pervert [sic]."

Lakshmy, who was last seen in the Nivin Pauly-starrer "Jacobinte Swargarajyam," also adds that she was put under immense mental agony after social media users accused her for an incident that happened not because of her actions.

On social media people reacted to the news given by polimer channel and accused me. I was put under immense mental agony for no fault of mine. I just encouraged the victims of sexual abuse to take legal action. When all these people reacted so badly to news given by polimer channel without even getting the facts right, anything could have happened to me , the mother & her daughters? Then...people will turn around and say polimer tv was reason for lakshmy's death? Polimer channel is blaming other channel...big joke!!! Polimer did not even speak to me and take my side of the story...did the damage and people reacted bcas of "samooha akkarai." When you guys do it even without knowing the facts & talking to all concerned...it is "samooha akkarai." When we talk in the presence of both the parties , after getting facts from all concerned...and advise to take legal action...it is for trp?!!!!!"

The controversy has hit the headlines just a few days after Lakshmy tweeted on the increased TRP rating of Zee Tamil channel after it broke the record of Vijay Television.
