Malayalam movie "Happy Wedding" marked the reunion of "Premam" actors Siju Wilson, Justin John, Sharafudheen and Soubin Shahir. Made on a budget of approximately Rs. 2 crore, the comedy entertainer was released on May 20 along with Dulquer Salmaan's "Kammatipaadam."

Despite being a low budget movie, "Happy Wedding" turned out to be a surprise hit after the Dulquer-starrer received mixed response from the audience. The romantic comedy entertainer also got an advantage as no other big movies were released during the month of June due to Ramadan fasting season.

According to trade analysts, the Omar-directed movie collected a gross amount of Rs. 13.70 crore from the worldwide box offices. The satellite rights of the film have been acquired by Surya TV for Rs. 2.10 crore, making the total earnings approximately Rs. 16 crore. It has also completed a dream run of more than 100 days in Kerala. The team of "Happy Wedding" released the film's DVD during the 101 days celebration at Eros office in Kochi on Aug. 22.

The screen count of the romantic entertainer, which was initially released in 35 theatres in Kerala, was increased to 130 theatres after it started garnering positive response from the movie-goers. Also read: Happy Wedding review round-up
