Humans may be considered as the most intelligent animal on the earth but even then there are scores of weird incidents that are beyond our understanding. Though scientists and doctors often end up giving them scientific or medical term, for people like us it is just bizarre.

Before the year ends, we just want to take you through some of the strange medical cases that left the doctors baffled in 2017:

Dead foetus inside a woman for 15 years

A 52-year-old woman in India discovered more than she anticipated after she visited a doctor complaining of abdominal pain. She found out that she had been carrying a dead foetus for 15 years that she had aborted back then.

The doctors at that time assured her that the baby was aborted. Since no sonography was done, neither she nor the doctors knew that the baby was still there.

The rare case was published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

 Sexsomnia

A man was accused of raping his ex 'in his sleep' who claimed to be unaware of anything like that only to be discovered that he's suffering from sexsomnia.

Dr Guy Leschziner who saw the man's case said: "His brainwaves in his sleep study show something very unusual."

Dr Leschziner mentioned: "He appears to be awake and deeply asleep at the same time. During brief periods we can see the large slow brainwaves of deep sleep, with superimposed fast rhythms, suggesting simultaneously that he is awake."

Brain leaking out

This is one of the scariest case on the list and possibly the most tragic one. A 40-year-old woman's brain dropped out of her skull due to a very rare condition known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, FoxNews reported. The condition causes her body's connective tissues to collapse, which means her joints frequently fall apart and it made her brain slip 7 mm out of place.
