St Lucia Zouks will take on the defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders in the eliminator of CPL 2016 at the Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, St Kitts on Thursday. Zouks are tipped to be the favourites to win this crucial do-or-die encounter, considering the kind of form they have been in recently.

Zouks are coming into this match after two back-to-back thumping win over Jamaica Tallawahs in the league stage. They started off poorly in this edition of the CPL, but resurrected their campaign brilliantly to reach the playoff stages.

Darren Sammy-led Zouks have won almost all their home games until Trinbago Knight Riders halted their brilliant home-run during the league stage.

Shane Watson, Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher have been their keys to success in their CPL 2016 campaign so far. Charles is their highest run-getter as he has managed to notch up 410 at a strike rate of 143.35 in the 10 matches. In the last few matches, all these three players have been extremely good with their big strong willows.

Knight Riders should be wary of this trio and they should be having a plan for them if they will want to outclass the Zouks in this crucial encounter.

The defending champions also have a number of things to worry about as their best players have not been in form throughout CPL 2016. Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine and skipper Dwayne Bravo himself have failed to make an impact in many matches during the league stage.

Hashim Amla will be crucial for the Knight Riders at the top of the order. He needs to get going at the start of the innings and in that way, a lot of pressure will be eased off the middle-order.

Expected playing XI:

St Lucia Zouks: Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher (wk), Shane Watson, David Miller, Grant Elliot, Darren Sammy (C), Mike Hussey, Gidron Pope, Delorn Johnson, Shane Shillingford, Jerome Taylor.

Trinbago Knight Riders: Hashim Amla, Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro, Umar Akmal, Dwayne Bravo (C), Denesh Ramdin (wk), Anton Devcich, Kevon Cooper, Sunil Narine, Nikita Miller, Ronsford Beaton.
